Sharing Christ, teaching the Word of God, and serving orphans and widows in Southern India
"For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of salvation for all who believe..." (Rom 1:16a)
Glory Ministries is a wonderful Mission that operates in the grinding poverty of Southern India. It is presided over by a young man named Joyson Meruga. He and his ministry co-workers are faithful servants of Christ. They have a burden for sharing the Love of Christ with the people in their nation. Joyson and his Glory Ministries ministers have been involved in serving as the hands and feet of Jesus amongst the poor for over a decade, including the blind, lepers, widows, street people, and especially the orphans in their community. Glory Ministries has specially-tailored programs set up for the purpose of reaching these examples of what Christ called "the least of these".
"Religion that is pure and defiled before God, the Father, is this: to take care of orphans and widows in their distress..." (Jas 1:27a)
Glory Ministries has a comprehensive approach to ministry to saturate the communities where it operates with opportunities for the people there. Glory provides a Children's Home to care for orphans with the love and teaching of the Christian faith, and a School to teach academics and morals to the children in their community. They also send Outreach Teams to permeate the dark spiritual corners of their districts, and they train and equip pastors and students to preach the Gospel. They are also actively providing Christian literature, fresh water, food and medical attention for the poor, and other necessities to the area that they serve.
Joyson and orphans
"How then, will they call on Him whom they have not believed? And how will they believe on Him of whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without someone preaching?" (Rom 10:14)
God has blessed this wonderful ministry resourceful leaders, but there is still a great need for financial help from people who have all of their needs met. Mother Hemalatha Feeding Home
Project Mother Hemalatha Feeding Home: (excerpt from letter sent by Glory Ministries) This is a feeding program by Glory Ministries among Yanadhi Tribe people. The people go out for rag-picking and begging, along with children to have food and earn money. In the evening, every day they drink and spoil the money and health and don't care for family or the future. Glory Ministries, through a feeding program (as they are hungry for food) try to save at least the children from ruining their lives from childhood and bring them up in Christ.
A personal story as sent from Glory Ministries in their words: Bojja Lakshmi
Bojja Lakshmi comes from Hindu family. She is of 12 years of age studying 4th class. Her mother died and father married another woman and she has one sister called Chenchamma. After coming to the Mother Hemalatha Feeding Home, Bojja Lakshmi accepted Jesus Christ into her heart believing He died on the cross for her sins. She decided to live a changed life following Him. Before coming to this home, she has the habit of drinking alcohol, playing cards, stealing, fighting, telling lies. She used to watch Cinema, listen cinema songs, dance for cinema songs, and also seeing sex pictures and sex videos on cellphone. But now, after coming to Mother Hemalatha Feeding Home by the Holy Spirit conviction, with the help of the Bible teachers and teachings, she confessed all her sins and decided to stop all the bad things mentioned above. Before, she was not going to school regularly and goes out on the streets for rag-picking. Now, she is going to school regularly. Before, she used to do idol worship, but now she is not doing and even not eating the pooja food. She is happy to live a life pleasing to God. She requested to pray that she may not at all run to the wrack shop for drinking alcohol, but stand to the decision of not drinking it, since her family members drink always.
Also included in the message sent byGlory Ministriesis a request for prayer for children that they should have a right foundation to live a good life with spiritual values and moral values, and the children may not be spoiled.
(as written by Glory Ministries): Manikala is studying 3rd Class and is of 11 years age. After coming to Mother Hemalatha Feeding Home, she accepted Christ into her heart through "Zaccheaus" lesson. She stopped bad words, lies, fighting, reacting when other beat. Now she learned to make friendship with other children and play with them. She learned to obey parents. She decided not to play cards and now not playing. She became neat, doing bath daily and wearing washed cloths. Through Daniel's lesson on integrity, Manikala learned to pray 3 times and more daily. She decided to live with integrity and she is continuing in that decision.
After coming to this home, she changed her mind of roaming on that roads and now going to school, than after stays at home obeying her parents in doing work at home.
